Become an SBA Tutor
Some Blind Alleys is always looking for writers who are interested in teaching. A tutor at Some Blind Alleys must be a committed and enthusiastic student of great writing, and their main reason for wanting to teach ought to be to pass on that commitment and enthusiasm. Some Blind Alleys is not looking for people who teach out of creative writing handbooks, who teach technique, or who think that publishing is the goal of writing. A tutor must be prepared to offer honest and constructive criticism as well as honest encouragement. Importantly, a tutor must take student’s work home and provide extensive written feedback – line-by-line edits as well as summary responses. A Some Blind Alleys course is time-intensive for students but also for tutors. Remuneration is extremely competitive, but tutors work extremely hard.
Some Blind Alleys courses are literature courses for people interested in writing. Read more about the courses on our About the Workshops page to see if SBA’s unique approach to creative writing courses interests you. If so, please contact SBA using our Contact page.
