‘I am not a Freudian about this money shit’

Anne Enright

Anne Enright on the recession in Ireland, from the London Review of Books: “For a while, house auctions were a kind of blood sport in South Dublin. There were women who spent their lives going to them, to get high on the smell of money and other people’s pain. It was like living in a casino: the insanity of the sums involved; that blank, ecstatic misery on the faces of the people who won.”

Thanks to Fiona McCann for spotting it.

“Greg Baxter’s course are unlike any creative writing course I’ve ever heard of: they are better. If you don’t like being challenged, the Some Blind Alleys courses are not for you. If you do, they may change your life.”

Vote: is the brown “really really gross” or is it Brady Bunch kitchen retro?

Claire Gallagher says this brown is “really really gross.” I’m just utterly astounded that I’ve taught myself InDesign, even poorly.
